Embedded Computer
System
An embedded computer system
consisting of a module that
implements the compact Intel
Atom Z5xx-series processor and an
associated carrier board features a
very small form factor. Measuring
70 × 70 mm and consuming less
than 12 W of power at a 5-V input,
the QSeven module connects to its
carrier board via the MXM (mobile
PCI Express module) edge connector,
which facilitates the development
of notebook graphics. Common
signals between the boards include
PCI Express x1, LVDS, SATA,
SDVO, HAD, Gigabit Ethernet, Low
Pin Count bus, Secure Digital I/O,
SMBus, and I2C bus. Generating
little heat while consuming little
power, the module enables devices
to operate for long periods at
low running costs; devices can be
battery operated or have a fanless
configuration. The processor module
is installed on top of the carrier
board to maximize mechanical
stability and save space.

Shoulder Screws
More than 40 sizes are offered in
a line of molded nylon 6/6 shoulder
screws designed for use in fastening
applications that will encounter
corrosive environments. The socket-head screws are available in 10-24,
¼-20, 5⁄18-18, and 3⁄8-16 threads
and in lengths ranging from 0.345
to 0.625 in. Shoulder lengths run
from ¼ to 2 in. Besides providing
corrosion resistance, the plastic
screws are electrically insulating
and nonmagnetic and exhibit a high
strength-to-weight ratio.
