Dispensing Unit
A programmable dispensing system
uses precision stepper motors to
control a variety of valveless piston
pumps. With a range of 500 nl per
dispense to 2 L per minute continuous
flow, the PDS-100 accommodates
the manufacturer’s pumps in all
sizes in both fixed- and adjustable-displacement configurations. The
pump heads are mounted to the
control unit, which is housed in an
anodized aluminum enclosure. The
control unit also includes the stepper
motor drives and programmable
driver electronics. The front face of
the enclosure has a light-emitting
diode (LED) readout that displays
menu-driven programming and
membrane switches for navigating
through the programming steps. The
unit can be configured to control
either one or two pump heads.
In configurations with two pump
heads, each pump can be controlled
independently for dual proportional
dispensing and metering, or both
pumps can be synchronized to
produce smooth, pulseless flow.

Motion Controller
An RoHS-compliant motion
controller provides controller
cycles up to 4 kHz. A version of the
SPiiPlus 3U, the device is available
with four, six, or eight axes and
features customized algorithms,
offering precise motion control
to meet a range of application
parameters such as gantry control,
tight velocity control, and fast move
and settle times. Built for OEM rack-based systems, the SPiiPlus 3U can
be integrated into the MC4U rack-mount control module, providing
motion control for up to eight
motors. The unit features advanced
algorithms and input-shaping tools
that reduce jitter and settling times,
increasing system efficiency and
throughput. The control module
supports Hall sensors and features
