Industrial Computers
A computer series offers single
peripheral component interconnect
expandability. The BoxPC 108A
features an energy-efficient 1.5-GHz
VIA C7 processor, while the BoxPC
108K has a high-horsepower 3.0-GHz
Pentium 4 processor. Both models
are equipped with an 800-MHz front-side bus and feature an all-metal
wall-mountable chassis. They also
have up to 1 GB of DDR400 DIMM
RAM at 266/333/400 MHz and a
range of ports. Designed for flexibility,
the wall units can also be used
with ARP1700-series computers—
modular panel systems that operate
with ADM 1500–series monitors in a
range of sizes from 15 to 20 in.

Galvo Scanner
A galvo scanner with an integrated
pyrometer is used with a fiber-coupled turnkey diode laser system
that features output powers up
to 500 W. Used on the Compact-series laser system product line,
the combined galvo scanner and
pyrometer unit facilitates quasi-simultaneous plastics welding. Using
the on-axis single-color pyrometer,
users can optically measure the
temperature of the welding zone
during scanning, allowing closed-loop
temperature control of the production
process. In addition, the supporting
software provides complete process
data documentation for quality
control. The galvo scanner is available
with apertures of 20 or 30 mm in
diameter in combination with 400-
or 200-μm fibers and F-Theta optics,
which help keep the beam spot
focused. The beam diameter is 2.8
or 1.4 mm in a 140 × 140-mm field.

NEMA Wiring Devices
A series of specification- and
hospital-grade NEMA wiring devices
enables fast and easy assembly
of electrical terminations. Clamp-Lock devices avoid failures by using
spring pressure—the application of
a consistent amount of pressure that
adjusts automatically to prevent the
shifting of wire strands, or creep.
Conventional screw terminal-wiring
devices loosen over time as a result
of creep, heat, shock, vibration,
or incomplete tightening during
installation. The clamp-lock devices
use color-coded cam levers to open
and snap-close the chambers that
accept the conductors. They do not
require retorquing or the use of tools
for insertion. Available in 15- and
20-A straight-blade configurations,
