blocks, flange blocks, and shafting
are also available. Since composite
bearings maintain 100% contact
with the shaft, contaminants cannot
collect. Shafting options include
solid and hollow Class L Type 304
stainless steel and ceramic-coated
aluminum up to 12 ft in length.
Shafting features include corrosion
and chemical resistance, custom
machining to print, predrilling,
and assembly.

Label Printer
A 58-mm panel-mount printer
features a clamshell design and
accommodates large paper rolls. With
multiple mounting points, the Asteron
printer can be attached to any panel
regardless of its thickness. The 5-V
device can be used in an array of
applications, including sterilization
equipment, incubators, blood
analyzers, and autoclaves. Offering
safety and security, the printer
features an ergonomic door-opening
system with an advanced locking
mechanism to prevent the door from
opening unexpectedly. Its design
also protects against spills and dust.
Upgraded with enhanced features to
suit specific requirements, the printer
includes a 32-KB microprocessor,
enabling upside-down printing and a
choice of resident fonts.

Flow Sensor
Calibration
A provider of electronic components
offers custom calibration assistance
for flow-sensing applications to
customers whose requirements
cannot be satisfied with off-the-shelf products. Suitable for medical
device applications, this free service
is available to customers regardless
of how many sensors they require.
The company’s standard mass-flow
sensors are calibrated for air, except
for the D6F-05N/L series, which
is calibrated for natural gas and
propane. Customers who wish to
measure other noncorrosive gases
can receive custom calibrations.
Since the thermal properties and
densities of different gases vary, the
output curves for them vary as well.
Some gases are similar enough to
air so that they only require a new
output curve. However, to optimize
outputs for some gases, sensors may
require minor circuitry adjustments.
Gases for which custom calibration is
possible include argon, helium, heliox,
carbon dioxide, nitrogen, natural gas,
propane, nitrogen oxides, and oxygen.

Lithium Ion Cell
A lightweight high-rate lithium
ion cell uses nickel manganese–
based cathode material to deliver
higher discharge rates and
better temperature stability than
comparable cells, according to the
manufacturer. The CGR26650A’s
heat-resistance-layer technology also
provides safer operation. Suitable for
multicell applications, the product
features discharge rate capability of
up to 40 A, typical capacity of 2650
mAh, a wide operating temperature
range, and long life. With high
recharge-rate capacity, the cell
recovers most of its capacity within
20 minutes.

Five-Axis Trunnion
Machines
Five-axis trunnion machines can save
manufacturing time and costs while
decreasing workholding and fixturing
expenses, according to the company.
Featuring a large work envelope
and a true trunnion axis instead of
a cantilever-style axis, Nissin MAX
i-Series machining centers access
five sides of a part and complete it
in a single setup operation. The
systems’ trunnion mounting provides
machining stability, accuracy, and
enhanced contouring capabilities. In
addition, its trunnion table supports
payload and cutting forces at both
ends of the trunnion. A rigid table
design allows for an ample swing
area, resulting in accurate machining
of large parts. Massive cast-iron
frames with a honeycomb design
and bridge-type construction also
contribute to the machines’ rigidity
