the latex-free, hypoallergenic
material is abrasion resistant and
does not become slippery when it is
exposed to many fluids. In addition,
the plastic is impervious to most
solvents commonly used in hospitals,
clinics, and emergency medicine
environments. A primary component
of home medical devices such as
event recorder cables and exercise
and therapy equipment, Santoprene
is employed in cable jacketing and
overmolding materials, creating a
solid bond between the cable, the
yoke, and flex reliefs. This feature
increases product life and helps
eliminate spaces where contaminants
and biologics can accumulate. The
material can also be sterilized using
most common methods, including
gamma radiation, steam, and EtO.

Multiloop Integrated
Controller
A configurable multiloop temperature
and process controller integrates a
range of control loop functions in a
single DIN-rail-mounted package.
EZ-Zone RM can be used as a
proportional-integral-derivative
(PID) temperature and process
controller, an over- and under-limit
controller, or an integrated controller
that combines these functions. Other
control functions can be integrated
as well, such as high-amperage power
controller output. The controller can
be configured with between 1 and 16
modules controlling up to 64 loops.
Utilizing an integrated controller can
reduce wiring time and termination
complexity, improve overall system
reliability, and eliminate the
compatibility issues that arise when
different components and brands
